Day 1 — Saturday
Arrival in Avignon
Meet your guide in Avignon at 4 pm for a private transfer by air-conditioned executive minibus to MAM GOZ, tied up on the Rhône river quayside in Avignon. A warm welcome awaits on board and after a refreshing Champagne reception and you’ve settled in, simply rest on board or stroll along the embankment or into the centre of the lovely city itself before dinner on board.
Day 2 — Sunday
Cruise to Vallabrègues | Tour of Avignon | Lunch in a local restaurant
The morning begins with a delicious breakfast, followed by a walking tour with your guide to visit the famous Palais des Papes. Avignon was the capital of the western Christian world in the fourteenth century and still presents exceptional buildings, beautiful squares, remarkable mansions, winding alleys and today’s fashion boutiques. After lunch in a selected restaurant, you’ll have time for some shopping in Avignon, if you wish. Then we take our first cruise of the week, downstream on the Rhône river to the small village of Vallabrègues.
Day 3 — Monday
Cruise to Arles | Excursion to Les Baux de Provence | Lunch in a local restaurant
Today’s excursion is into Les Alpilles, the glorious heart of Provence, to explore Les Baux-de-Provence, a must-see fortified medieval city with narrow winding streets, shady terraces and an imposing fortress. We’ll taste the delicious olive oil produced by the Moulin de Castelas and after lunch in a typical small village square, discover Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, another jewel of a village, and enjoy its artisanal boutiques and art galleries. During the leisurely afternoon’s cruise to Arles, we’ll pass through an impressive lock with a 14m descent on to the next section of the river.
Day 4 — Tuesday
Cruise to Saint Gilles | Tour of Arles | Lunch in a local restaurant
Today’s excursion is a breath-taking guided tour of Arles, an ancient Roman town with a near intact amphitheatre, and beloved of Van Gogh who produced many of his finest works here.
Lunch at a typical restaurant in the city and then relax on board as Mam Goz navigates onto the Petit Rhône, leading into the Camargue. We arrive at Saint-Gilles, famous for its ancient pilgrimages and our mooring for the night, in time for sun-downers on deck before dinner.
Day 5 — Wednesday
Cruise to Gallician | Excursion into the Camargue and Les Saintes- Maries-de-la-Mer
In the heart of the Camarge we’ll visit the famous white horses and a bulls breeding farm and learn about the traditions and life in Camargue from the local guardiens. After lunch on board today, we’ll go to the coastal town of the Camargue, Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, with its fortified church famous for its gypsy pilgrimages. This is a lovely spot and, according to the season, you may enjoy a dip in the sparkling Mediterranean sea here. Back on board, relax on deck in the sunshine and try some bird-watching for flamingo and stork as we cruise on to Gallician,
Day 6 — Thursday
Cruise to Aigues Mortes | Excursion into the countryside and tour of Aigues-Mortes | Lunch in local restaurant
Today we cruise into the Canal du Rhône à Sète we’ll continue to enjoy the wild Camargue, one of Europe’s largest wetlands, before arriving in Aigues-Mortes, a stunning walled city founded by King Saint-Louis as a harbour on the Mediterranean from which to launch his crusade. After lunch in a selected restaurant in town, we’ll tour the ‘Salins d’Aigues-Mortes’ in a 4×4 accompanied by a local guide to discover fauna and flora that you’ll not see anywhere else. To complete the day, we’ll tour Aigues-Mortes itself – its attractive streets and the medieval ramparts. It’s the final Captain’s dinner tonight – time to reflect on your fascinating week and toast your favorite moments.
Day 7 — Friday
Departure from Aigues-Mortes
After breakfast, disembark for your transfer to the airport or railway station in Montpellier.

Fine Wines — Fine Dining

Mam Goz serves traditional French breakfasts on board: café, thé, chocolat with fresh orange juice, breads, croissants, marmalade, honey, butter and also cheese, ham and eggs as well as cereals, yoghurt and dried fruit.
Four lunches are taken ashore in selected restaurants during the week, chosen for their originality and the quality of their cuisine. There is a choice of 3 courses accompanied by a glass of wine and a coffee.
Six gastronomic dinners are served on board:
an aperitif and ‘mise en bouche’, and a 4 course dinner followed by café or tea and digestive.

On board of MAM GOZ, we serve traditional French cuisine inspired by the Mediterranean region. Our chef uses only top quality local fresh produce, simply cooked and seasoned with olive oil, fresh spices and herbs of the region. That’s truly his secret.
Wines on board are selected from growers in the Valley du Rhône, Provence and Languedoc and offered at each meal according to the taste of our guests and, of course, to complement the menu.
