Routes
Locaboat’s routes are found in most regions of France, with 9 bases in Burgundy and the Loire, 6 bases in the south-west and Canal du Midi region, 2 in Brittany in the north-west and 2 bases in Alsace in the north-east region. Each base has a selection of models to offer for one-way or there-and-back holidays. Cruises are marketed according to items of interest and opportunities for excursions, such as the ‘Vineyards and Impressionist Landscape’ cruise in the Loire region, or ‘The Musketeers Cruise’ in Aquitaine. Cruises are available from mid-March to early November.
Vessels
Locaboat’s fleet includes the Classique, Aft Deck and Flying Bridge styles of its trademark Penichette range, as well as the Europa range and the Linssen Grand Sturdy 34.9. The Penichette design is renowned for its manoeuvrability and consequently very popular with first-time boaters. The various boat models offer accommodation from 2 – 12 people and all boats are well-fitted with plenty of storage space, each cabin usually having its own en-suite bathroom. Social areas include a well-fitted kitchen with hob, oven and fridge, and a saloon with a convertible sofa. Depending on the model there may also be an aft deck, a flying bridge with additional steering position and bow thrusters for extra control.

Locaboat Pricing
Rental periods vary from a 2 day week-end cruise to 7 days or longer, and extra days can also be added. Prices ranging from 450 EUR up to almost 5,000 EUR per week for the largest luxury models in peak season. Permanent discounts are offered for couples, families, long stays, flotilla bookings and early season bookings but extra discounts are also available according to demand. Prices include boat hire and insurance, bottled gas, water, a handbook and instruction, but many other optional extras are available, such as bicycle hire and transfers between the bases and train stations or airports.
