These are the key publications from Editions du Breil that you’ll need for exploring, or travelling through, the waterways, rivers and canals. Each provides a map of the subject river or canal, kilometre by kilometre, with information (in French, English and German) about locks (width, rise, number of chambers), bridges (air draft), depths, towns and villages; and moorings.
Breil guides cover the waterways network comprehensively (the notable omission being Calais/Nord) and they are updated very regularly.
Whilst it is possible to travel using just a good waterways system map plus the various navigational signs that warn, instruct, or provide information we think it is important to have better, more detailed information to hand. Breil printed guides are simply indispensable.

Prices given below – in euros – exclude post and packing. For Breil guides, there is no postal cost differential between E.U countries and non-E.U countries. Postage is calculated at completion of your order according to the number of guides – i.e not on a per guide basis. Publications will be despatched promptly (normally within one working day, i.e excluding weekends, from receipt of order) direct from the French publishers, by normal post, which is normally very reliable. If you require additional delivery services (for example, speed, priority, package tracking, guaranteed delivery or insurance) see below. They are otherwise not included and we therefore cannot refund or re-send missing items. Please make sure you give us an accurate full address.
Returns – guides may be returned to us in perfect condition within 14 days of receipt for a full refund (excluding delivery cost). Beyond that point a credit note may be issued, at our discretion.

The Departments of Nord and Pas-de-Calais have a dense network of approximately 500 kilometers of waterways. These rivers and canals, frequented for centuries by boats of all sizes, also offer boaters routes that are just as exciting as the “tourist canals” of central and southern France.
